Our History
Our Vision
Our Philosophy
In 2007, a couple of friends believed that research could be made sustainable from the ground up: working and learning green from the classroom to the most advanced laboratories. While others looked for ways to make society eco-conscious, they worked to help make science responsible.
.. and so two programs evolved:
1. recycling used lab equipment and surplus supplies from high-end labs to under-funded science programs across the US and abroad, and
2. providing eco-friendly and budget alternatives to both academic and private scientific start-ups.
At sBench, we believe that your outdated equipment or extra consumables don't need to be trashed or become home to dust bunnies in some storage space. We find clients that turn your trash into their treasure, laying the foundation of sustainability and working green. And we believe that durability and integrity do not have to come at the cost of energy exhaustion, virgin material production and lead to toxic products or by-products. We believe that the intiative of environmental resposibility should and can begin in the lab.
We are constantly working to find products that will make your laboratory more energy-efficient and eco-friendly. Through our initiatives, we hope to bring a real opportunity to work green in the scientific community. And it is our vision to supplement all of our educational and research needs with a better, more sustainable bench, so that we can truly spread the message of going green. Securing a better and healthier tomorrow begins today - at your desk, by your foot and in your research, because your labs are everyone's labs and where our homes begin.
